The Future of Publishing Industry: 2nd International Library and Publishing Summit from October 30th to November 1st, 2025 in Dubai
Dubai’s position as a global hub for cultural dialogue and innovation in publishing is set to be further strengthened
[datensicherheit.de, 10|10|2025] According to a statement by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library in Dubai, the second edition of the “International Library and Publishing Summit“ will take place from October 30th to November 1st, 2025 under the slogan “The Future of Publishing Industry“. The event will bring together over 80 international speakers from 20 countries and will feature six keynotes, 45 panel discussions and 16 workshops, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for cultural dialogue and innovation in publishing.
Meeting in Dubai as a “strategic platform“
This event is seen as a “strategic platform“ for promoting knowledge and culture and highlighting the changing role of libraries in supporting future generations. It will explore how creativity and technology interact to strengthen the Arab world’s contribution to the global publishing landscape.
- Key topics include the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI), innovation and Digital Transformation on the publishing sector, as well as storytelling in a time of rapid change.
Sessions such as “Voices Across Borders“ will explore the role of translation in connecting cultures, while “Letters in Motion“ will address creativity through writing, typography and calligraphy. The concept of purposeful publishing will also be a focus, highlighting the growing demand for socially conscious and meaningful content.
Industry gathering in Dubai also focuses on supply chain resilience
As the industry continues to evolve amid technological upheaval and changing reading habits, discussions will focus on challenges such as copyright, supply chain resilience and new formats for younger audiences.
- “The results will provide practical guidance for institutions and professionals to adapt and succeed, while strengthening the region’s position within global publishing.“
Over three days, an extensive network of publishers, university presses, literary agents, booksellers and award organisations will be brought together.
Dubai values a sustainable balance between traditional and digital publishing
“International publishing leaders such as Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster and HarperCollins will join the publishing community of the United Arab Emirates, represented by the Emirates Publishers Association.“
- The workshops will offer practical learning in the areas of translation, editing, children’s literature and typography – including work practices and modern publishing processes – and provide valuable insights for authors, editors and publishers who need to navigate an industry in transition.
The programme will also focus on digital books and audiobooks, multimedia storytelling for young audiences, and commercial strategies such as global distribution, marketing trends and ethical content creation. One focus will be on ensuring a sustainable balance between traditional and digital publishing, expanding access to global markets and promoting environmental and ethical responsibility.
